THINGS THAT MAKE ME HAPPY
SUPER DELUXE DIES

So I just returned from an amazing 2 day trip to Arachova ( in Greece, near Delphi) and I hopped on my computer to check my emails and dick off a bit, when I was surprised to find that superdeluxe had been taken down and absorbed by Turner. WTF. I thought that they were still going to keep the site up and that it was just going to be owned by Turner. Instead its now located on adultswim.com and sucks. Not only is adultswim.com slow and overcrowded with family guy clips, but Turner is not allowed to stream any videos outside of the US!!! That means I can no longer watch my favorite yall so stupid videos!! I am super bummed about it.
On a lighter note, my trip was AWESOME! It was a nice long drive up into the mountains, a lot of really pretty villages and great food along the way. The village we stayed in, Arachova was gorgeous. It is a cute little ski town with some intense views. It was a little quite but everything was still open. I had some really fantastic cheese called Formaela that they make around there, and some super tasty sausages. We took a nice drive down to Delphi and checked out the ruins and museum, then drove out to a nice little town on the sea and had lunch. All in all it was a nice relaxing trip and got me primed to do a whole lot of nothing over the holiday season!
NICE MOON!
I read that last nights full moon was the brightest that we have seen since like 92. It made me remember these photos I took last summer in Mykonos. This moon was really incredible, it was so bright and big. It was a bit cloudy that night but when the clouds opened up a little bit, the light would shine through and make a bright area of orange light on the sea. I used my shitty little digital to take a 3 minute exposure and I think they came out pretty nice.

My ass hurts: The problem with DRM.
You are probably asking yourself; Why does his ass hurt? Has he been sexually assaulted? Did he fall off his skateboard? What is the deal? Well the answer is, I have been raped on a regular basis, by the big bad DRM dick. I cant express the hatred I have for this useless technology.
Now I understand some of the concerns of the record labels, artists and copyright holders. They dont want their product being stolen and interrupting their stream of revenue. Well fine, I am all about contributing to artists and the industry, but dont limit how I can enjoy the music, which i shelled out a whopping 99 cents a song for. With or without this technology, the music will be reproduced, a work around will be found, and these greedy assholes are going to be in the same position they started in.
I started using iTunes to buy music, because A. I feel that if I really like an artist, I will pay for his music and contribute to any of their future work B. its easy and C. there’s a huge collection. Well now that a bulk of the music I have on my computer was purchased on iTunes, I am limited to what I can do with it and where I can play it. This really pisses me off. If I want to say burn an mp3 cd to listen to in my car, iTunes zips down its fly and thrusts its big DRM dick directly in my ass. If I want to sync up some tunes on my non-ipod mp3 player, again my ass gets a pounding. If I want to take a play list and mix it up into a sweet mix for my party, I get boinked. Well this just wont do, first off I want the freedom to do as I please with the music I have legally purchased and secondly I don’t enjoy being sodomized.
So what choices do I have to defend myself from being taken advantage of by this big corporate cock. Do I just say fuck it and spend 20 hours burning and re importing all of my music? Go and spend 50 bucks on a program to do it for me? Or do I just give in, buy an ipod and forget about using the music I payed for the way I want to? My options are limited and I feel like Im backed into a corner. I guess I could just stop downloading music from iTunes, do like most people my age do and download free, DRM-less music. There’s always news groups, which provide unlimited downloading, huge collections, the ability to download an artist’s entire dicography in one little compressed package, and a fair monthly fee. But I don’t want to make a compromise, got damnit! I like using iTunes, its convenient.
I hope iTunes and the rest of these fools will come to their senses and just deal with the fact that no matter what they do, people will pirate, and find a way to outsmart them. Dont punish the rest of us for it.
